4/28/09 Grievance for Former CWA Members on Long Term Disability

In November, 2008, Eddie Hicks filed a grievance because Embarq said former employees receiving long-term disability benefits would begin paying a portion of their medical, prescription drug and dental coverage. This was a violation of the Group Long-Term Disability Plan that states the employe contribution would be waived.

I have been advised that CWA intends to arbitrate this grievance, but no date has been set. WE ARE ASKING OUR MEMBERS TO PASS THIS ALONG TO ANYONE THEY KNOW WHO IS ON LONG-TERM DISABILITY.
