Attention CWA Local 3871 Members at CenturyLink
CODE OF CONDUCT
We have been questioned about the Company telling employees to complete the Code of Conduct Certification Training online.
This is a reminder that as in years past, employees will not be required to complete the training online. Instead, supervisors will hold a Code of Conduct Certificate Training refresher in group meetings and each employee’s attendance at such meeting will be documented.
Employees who have already completed the online certification process, but would like to have their online enrollment removed, may contact Human Resources.
This is in accordance with the agreement made in 2008 between CWA and the Company.
Robert D. Bright
Local President

REMINDER - YOUR RIGHT TO UNION REPRESENTATION
Employees have Weingarten rights during investigatory interviews. An investigatory interview occurs when a supervisor questions an employee to obtain information that could be used as a basis for discipline or asks an employee to defend his or her conduct. If an employee has a reasonable belief that discipline or other adverse consequences may result from what he or she says, the employee has the right to Union representation. This includes counseling sessions.
The employee must make a clear request for union representation before or during the interview. After the request is made, the employer must either:
Grant the request and delay questioning until the union representative arrives and has a chance to consult privately with the employee
or
Deny the request and end the interview immediately.
or
Give the employee a choice of having the interview without representation or ending the interview.

December 3, 2008 - Cell phone companies are charging $1.00 to $1.75 or more for 411 information calls. When you need to use the 411 information option, simply dial 1(800) FREE 411, or 1 (800) 373-3411. You will incur no charge. This works on your home telephone as well.
For Your Information - Cell phone numbers were released to telemarketing companies and you may start to receive calls.
YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS. To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone - 888-382-1222. It is the National DO NOT CALL LIST. It will only take a minute of your time and it blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number.
